This pilot documentary zooms in on the sense of community found on one of the most well-known streets in Amsterdam: Spuistraat. In the first episode, we see how an Italian deli has become a home not just for Italians but for students and workers from all over the world. The documentary looks how food and community come together in this small but welcoming space.

This short film was created at Digiland, a digitization studio in the heart of Amsterdam, run by Bruce Gray and Hannus Taken. I directed and edited the piece to honour their love for analogue film while reflecting the studio’s mission to preserve the craft of ditigisation. The result is a quiet celebration of the memories that we can touch.
